(1)               The Panel decided to defer consideration of the nominations of Mr R Cruttenden and Mr T Oakley for appointment to the Governing Body of Joy Lane Primary School, Whitstable.

(2)               The Panel agreed to the re-appointment of Mr F Wood-Brignall to the Governing Body of Greatstone Primary School subject to the Chairman reminding him of the guidelines relating to attendances.

(3)               The Panel decided to appoint Mr M Beckwith to the Governing Body of The Valley Invicta Park Federation, Maidstone, and not to accede to the request by the Liberal Democrat Group that this appointment should be deferred pending the Maidstone North East KCC by-election.

(4)         RESOLVED that: -

(a)         the appointments of Local Education Authority governors in primary, secondary and special schools be agreed as set out in the Appendix to these Minutes; and

(b)         the urgent action taken by the Managing Director, Children, Families and Education, in consultation with the Chairman, to appoint LEA Governors to the Temporary Governing Body of Ashford South Community Primary and Oak Tree Primary Schools and to the Governing Body of Higham Primary School (as set out on page B1.2 of the report) be noted.
