Changing Council Governance Arrangements - Mayors and Indirectly Elected Leaders Additional documents: Minutes: (1) An Addendum to the report was tabled, setting out the approximate cost of arranging for e.petitioning and a referendum.
(2) The Committee agreed to the addition of a paragraph on the cost of the process, which it would expect to be borne by the Government, together with a similar passage on the cost of e.petitioning in respect of Question 6. These supplementary paragraphs would be based on paragraphs 8 and 4 of the Addendum respectively.
(3) RESOLVED that subject to (2) above, the responses set out in paragraph 13 of the report be sent to the Department for Communities and Local Government. |

Informal Member Groups for Member Development and Member Information - Progress Report Minutes: (1) The Committee agreed to include the need for all Officers to be trained with regard to providing information to Members and the role of Members in the “Action Agreed” column for Recommendation 5.
(2) RESOLVED that subject to (1) above the report be noted and:-
(a) authority to implement the decisions of the Informal Member Group (IMG) Member Information be delegated to the Project Manager and the Head of Democratic Services and Local Leadership in consultation with the Deputy Leader and the three Members of the IMG Member Information; and
(b) the Head of Democratic Services and Local Leadership be requested to prepare a report in consultation with the Members of the IMG Member Information which will aim to enable the County Council to support the IDeA’s declaration as described in paragraph 9 of the report.

Electronic County Council Diary Minutes: (1) RESOLVED to:-
(a) note that a pilot electronic diary to include all County Council public meetings will be available on the County Council’s intranet site from 1 April 2009; and
(b) authorise the Head of Democratic Services and Local Leadership in consultation with the Deputy Leader and the Managing Directors to prepare a protocol; for those events (involving Members) which mandatorily should be included in the electronic diary, which will itself be available on KNet.
