Purpose:

With the withdrawal of external inspection of the Council’s performance in Adult Social Care, there is now more emphasis on councils to manage their own performance, work collaboratively with partners to improve performance and outcomes and explain how they have performed to local residents.  The Local Account has emerged as a standard feature of the new local accountability framework.

Decision:

As Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, I approve the Local Account for Kent Adult Social Care (April 2016 – March 2017).
