The endorsement of a new 14-24 strategy
The project is in line with Kent strategies and in particular supports the following;

Shape education and skills provision around the needs of the Kent economy
The education, Learning and Skills directorate will give particular priority to improving the skills and employability of 14 - 24 year olds, so that they make a good start to adult life and their potential is not lost to the Kent economy.
Apprenticeships Strategy – Increasing the number of young people undertaking apprenticeships and securing employability skills.
Education Commissioning Plan (Post 16 and SEND provision) – this plan will help the LA, schools, colleges and other education and training providers to forecast need and commission provision.
Impact/costs and risks of proposed decision
The strategy will have a potential impact upon the learning choices and progression opportunities of all 14-24 year olds in Kent. The key client groups will be 16-18 year olds who are currently Not in Employment Education and Training; young people without key employability skills at level 2; vulnerable learners (including LLDD) and young people who are at work but not in training.
The main risk is that key stakeholders won't engage at the District level to deliver this.
Most of the costs will come from existing programme budgets being used in a more flexible and responsive way.
