To reduce the Wellbeing Charge to tenants in Extra Care Housing Schemes from £27.96 per week to £15 per week. This charge contributes to the cost of providing 24 hour onsite care within the scheme.
For existing schemes in operation this will take effect from 1 April 2015. For new schemes currently in construction this will take effect from the date that the scheme becomes operational, even where this is before 1 April 2015.

Communication will take place with all tenants and/or their families in all extra care schemes and their Social Care Case Management team. The impact for the vast majority of tenants will be positive and this will be well received.
For all schemes currently in construction prospective tenants will be advised of the charge prior to taking up occupation.
