Contract Awards for Community Sexual Health Services

Proposed decision: To award the contracts for the delivery of community sexual health services outlined below to the winning bidders of the competitive tendering exercise.

 

The successful providers will be contracted to operate an integrated service model for sexual health services across the county.  This service includes:

1.    Genito-urinary Medicine Service (GUM) with Contraception and Sexual Health Services (CASH)

2.    Young People’s Sexual Health Services

 

The new service model will offer increased access and availability of the full range of sexual health services. The service will be delivered from locations in each district and will have extended outreach activity in areas of greatest need.

Financial Implications: Up to £17m over initial 2 year contract period.

Legal Implications: The contracts will be awarded following a competitive tendering process conducted in line with relevant procurement regulations.

The Social Care and Public Health Cabinet Committee agreed to support the tendering exercise at its meeting of 4th October 2013.  The results of the first tender exercise were discussed at the 2nd May 2014 meeting of the Adult Social Care and Health Cabinet Committee.


The Social Care and Public Health Cabinet Committee agreed to support the tendering exercise at their meeting of 4th October 2013.  An update on progress of the tender exercise, and the decision to award Lots 3-6, was discussed at the 2nd May meeting of the Adult Social Care and Health Cabinet Committee.

 

The proposal to award Lots 1 and 2 was discussed by the Adult Social Care and Health Cabinet Committee at its meeting of 4th December 2014, and it resolved that:

the decision proposed to be taken by the Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health, to award contracts to the bidders identified in the exempt appendix to the report, to deliver community sexual health services for lots 1 and 2, be endorsed.

 

Other consultation planned or undertaken:
A service review and stakeholder consultation and market engagement exercise was undertaken in 2013.
