The Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform has taken the decision to
(i) To increase the designated pupil
number from 164 to 174
(ii) Allocate £14.6 million from Special School Review
Capital Budget in order that the school may be expanded and
relocated
(iii) Authorise the Director of Property and Infrastructure Support
in consultation with the Director of Law and Governance to enter
into any necessary contracts/ agreements on behalf of the County
Council
(iv) Authorise the Director of Property
and Infrastructure Support to be the nominated Authority
Representative within the relevant agreements and to enter into
variations as envisaged under the contracts
The capital costs, of rebuilding, refurbishing, relocating and expanding the schools in the Special School Review, are currently in the Capital Programme. £63m identified for the Special school programme has been set aside for these projects. Further information will be provided in the report to the Cabinet Member when he takes his decision.
Human: If required, the schools will appoint additional teaching and support staff at the appropriate time.
