Purpose:

Joint commissioning and procurement of a health and social care service for Kent’s prisons with NHS England.

 

How the decision relates to Corporate Objectives:

The proposed decision relates to Corporate Objectives as the provision of a jointly commissioned health and social care service in prisons meets statutory responsibilities and supports Kent County Council’s vision to:

• Tackle disadvantage

• Reduce avoidable demand on health and social care services

• Focus on improving lives by ensuring that every penny spent in Kent is

  delivering better outcomes for Kent’s residents, communities and businesses

• Enable adults in Kent to lead independent lives, safely in their own  

  community (or establishment)

Decision:

As Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, I:

a) AGREE to jointly commission an integrated Health and Social Care Service with NHS England; and

b) DELEGATE authority to the Corporate Director of Adult Social Care and Health, or other nominated officer, to undertake the necessary actions to implement the decision.
