17/00123 - To approve fees and charges for discretionary planning and environmental advice and the principles for establishing fees and charges

Decision Maker: Leader and Cabinet Member for Health Reform

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

The Council currently provides professional and technical advice across a range of disciplines that support the planning process. Over recent years, with the rise of constraints on local authority budgets, councils at both county and district level have had to consider how they recover costs from providing such advice in order to ensure that they can continue to provide such advice on a sustainable basis.

This decision has been taken by the Leader in the absence of the Cabinet Member, Mr Whiting.

Decision:

As Leader and Cabinet Member for Traded Services and Health Reform I  agree to:

·         publish revised fees and charges for discretionary planning and environmental advice and DCO activity;  and

·         delegate authority to the Director of Environment, Planning and Enforcement to review and publish revised fees and charges subject to the application of a number of key principles as set out in paragraph 3.4.
