To agree changes to the policy concerning financial allowances for children’s arrangements.

The policy has been updated to reflect changes in guidance as well as evolving case law. The Local authority has a range of responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and in doing so should have regard to the statutory guidance issued by the Secretary of State for Education and evolving case law. 

As Cabinet Member for Specialist Children’s Services, I AGREE:

To the revised policy on financial allowances for children’s arrangements for the provision of support for children, their families and carers as they relate to Child Arrangements Orders, Special Guardianship Orders, Adoption Orders and looked after children.

The revised policy is set out in sections 4.1 and 4.2 of the recommendation report.
