Agenda and minutes

(1)       The Committee noted that discussions on Member Support between the Cabinet Members for Corporate and Democratic Services and for Community and Regulatory Services on Member Support were ongoing (Minute 11).    

(2)       RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting held on 21 June 2017 are correctly recorded and that they be signed by the Chairman.   

(1)       The Committee asked that in future reports on this matter, the heading “Casual User Allowance” should be amended to “Personal Car Usage” and that the section on Members’ use of taxis should contain an explanation that such usage was in conformity with the County Car Policy.   

(2)       RESOLVED that the report be noted and that the allowances and expenses for 2016/17 detailed in Appendix A of the report be published as required by the Local Authorities (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003.   

(1)       The Committee agreed that the Member Development Group would be invited to take the lead in establishing the cross party developmental/user group.  Committee Members expressed the view that participation in this group should be open but that the political groups should ensure that the overall number of Members was limited.

(2)       RESOLVED that the Member Development Group be invited to establish a cross party developmental/user group to make recommendations to the Cabinet Member for Corporate and Democratic Services on the digitalisation of services and operations to help Members discharge their role.

RESOLVED that Mr Ian Craig be nominated to serve as Kent County Council’s representative on the Page’s Educational Trust. 

RESOLVED that the Medway Council co-optee on the Superannuation Fund Committee be granted full voting rights.
