At the start of the meeting the Chairman read out the following statement as conformation of technical urgency of the Panel meeting:

 

In order to accommodate an additional candidate, whilst ensuring that the same Member Panel is able to interview the shortlisted candidates, the start time of this planned meeting had to be brought forward.  As this change has been made with fewer than 5 clear days' notice, it required the issuing of a new agenda and confirmation of the reason for technical urgency.

The Committee is asked to agree that the Chairman be authorised to sign the minutes as a correct record once they have been prepared after the meeting.

Motion to exclude the Press and Public

That under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Interviews for Director of Growth and Communities

Minutes:

(1)          Members of the Panel had before them the application forms and supporting information on the candidates who had been called for interview for the post of Director – Growth and Communities.

 

(2)          The Panel interviewed four candidates and would reconvene on Tuesday 2 March to interview the remaining candidates so further discussion about candidates, including the views received from the Stakeholder Panel was delayed until the conclusion of all the interviews.

 

(3)          RESOLVED that further discussion on the performance and merits of each candidate be deferred until all interviews had concluded on Tuesday 2 March.
