Gravesham Rural Neighbourhood
Forum
Kent County Council, in partnership with Gravesham
Borough Council and the six parish councils, run the Gravesham
Rural Neighbourhood Forum.
The
neighbourhood forum is open to all to attend for you to have your
say on local services and issues that matter to you. Local
councillors and officers from the county, borough and parish
councils are involved in the meetings and want to hear your
concerns.
Forum
meetings are held quarterly (approximately every 3 months). They
are informal meetings with workshop-style discussions and question
and answer sessions on selected issues.

Gravesham Neighbourhood Forums Joint
Meeting
on
the Lower Thames
Crossing
Highways England has been consulting on proposals for
a new crossing east of London.
The Gravesham Neighbourhood Forums held a joint
public debate, at St John’s School in Gravesend on 02 March
2016, about the routes proposed for the Lower Thames Crossing and
what they mean for Gravesend and surrounding areas.
The audience heard directly from Martin Potts,
Consultation Manager at Highways England, and from Dr Hilary
Newport, Director of CPRE Kent. Members of the audience were able
to ask questions and share their views during the
meeting.
The meeting was webcast and the recording is now
available at https://youtu.be/EZKyJcjYbwU.
Questions submitted in advance by email or during the
meeting via Twitter, together with responses from Highways England,
Kent County Council and Gravesham Borough Council, have been
collated and are
available here.
Please
Note:
The joint Forums meeting and the questions
raised in person, or via email or
Twitter, did not form part of Highways
England’s official consultation.
To
ensure
that views were taken into
account by Highways England, the formal consultation questionnaire
needed to be completed.
More information is available from Highways
England, including the option to sign up for future
updates:
http://www.lower-thames-crossing.co.uk/
Highways England’s consultation
closed on 24 March 2016.
