As a result of revised costs exceeding the 10% variance written into decision 14/0003 (a) for which the Director of Property and Infrastructure was delegated authority to decide upon the Cabinet Member was required to consider the allocation of further funds to the project and the result was decision 14/0003 (c) below:
As Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform, I agree to:-
i) Allocate £2.3m from the Education and Young People’s Services Capital Budget,
ii) Authorisethe Directorof Propertyand InfrastructureSupport, inconsultation withthe Director of Governance and Law,to enterintoany necessary contracts/agreementson behalfof the CountyCouncil, and
iii) Authorisethe Directorof Propertyand InfrastructureSupport tobe thenominated Authority Representative within therelevant agreements and toenter intovariations asenvisaged under the contracts.
In accordance with 14/0003 (a) having received new objections to the proposals during the public notice period, the Cabinet Member was required to have regard to those objections and consider the proposals again in light of them.
The result was decision 14/0003 (b) below:
The Cabinet Member has considered the new objections received during the statutory public notice period and having done so has confirmed that he agrees to:
(i) Relocate and expand the Tunstall school subject to planning permission being agreed
(ii) Allocate £4,818,000 from the Education. Learning and Skills Capital Budget.

Authorise the Director of Property and
Infrastructure Support in consultation with the Director of Law and
Governance to enter into any necessary contracts/ agreements on
behalf of the County Council
(iv) Authorise the Director of Property and Infrastructure Support to be the nominated Authority Representative within the relevant agreements and to enter into variations as envisaged under the contracts
The Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform has taken the decision to:
(i) Issue a public notice to relocate and expand Tunstall CE Primary School, by 210 places from 1FE to 2FE.
And, subject to no objections being received to the public notice
(ii) Relocate and Expand the school
(iii) Allocate £4,818,000 from the Education. Learning and Skills Capital Budget.
(iv) AUTHORISE the Director of Property and Infrastructure Support in consultation with the Director of Law and Governance to enter into any necessary contracts/ agreements on behalf of the County Council
(v) AUTHORISE the Director of Property and Infrastructure Support to be the nominated Authority Representative within the relevant agreements and to enter into variations as envisaged under the contracts
(vi) Should objections, not already considered by the Cabinet Member when taking this decision, be received during the notice period a separate decision will be required in order to continue the proposal and expand the school to allow for propose consideration of the points raised. This decision is subject to planning permission being granted.
