The group structure will facilitate improved inter-company productiveness, opportunities for economies of scale and provide a re-aligned corporate governance framework for co-ordinated external growth.

Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Finance and Traded Services agrees the following:

 

a)    A review of the governance structure for the group of companies wholly owned by Kent County Council referred to in the accompanying report and to implement a holding group structure as part of the review;

 

b)    To enter into such arrangements as are necessary to implement a); and

 

c)    Delegation of authority to the Monitoring Officer with the agreement of the Head of Paid Service, Corporate Director of Finance and Corporate Director of EODD to carry out and agree the final details of a) and b) in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance and Traded Services or the Cabinet Lead for Traded Services, including the authority to create additional entities and make appointments to them if necessary, as part of the review.

13/11/2018 - 18/00049 - Data Centre Exit ref: 2205    Recommendations Approved

A key decision is required owing to the contract levels exceeding the financial criteria for Key Decisions as set out in the Council’s constitution. This decision will result into a contract with a data centre supplier to house the remaining IT Infrastructure which cannot be migrated to the Cloud.

Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Corporate & Democratic Services authorises the Director of Infrastructure in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Corporate and Democratic Services to award the contract(s) for the provision of a Data Centre solution including the necessary contractual negotiations and enter into any subsequent necessary legal agreements.
