The safety of our children is currently at risk due to the
following factors:
Increased Traffic Volume: Significant housing development in Iwade
has led to a surge in vehicle movements during peak school
hours.
Hazardous Crossing Conditions: The current layout of School Lane, combined with high levels of pavement parking and congestion, creates poor visibility for both drivers and young pedestrians.
Encouraging Active Travel: A safe, managed crossing point is essential to support the school’s commitment to "Sustainable Travel," encouraging more families to walk to school rather than drive.
Preventative Action: We believe a formal crossing presence is necessary to prevent serious accidents before they occur, rather than reacting after a tragedy.
