•Peak hours for education and employment should be fiercely
protected. A 30-minute frequency during peak morning and afternoon
travel times is a vital community lifeline. Reinstating half-hourly
buses during these windows (if not all) ensures that students and
workers can travel efficiently, arrive focused, and get home at a
reasonable hour to rest, study, and maintain their
well-being.
•An hourly bus schedule makes commuting to work in locations
along this route completely unviable for residents. Workers cannot
rely on a service where getting a reasonable amount of sleep and
free time causes them to be a full hour late for a shift. This
restriction forces people to turn down employment opportunities,
limits the local workforce, and punishes low-income workers who
cannot afford to drive or take the train.
• When a service is cut by 50%, the remaining buses have to
carry double the passenger load. During morning and afternoon peak
hours, crowding the general public, elderly shoppers, workers, and
school/college students onto a single hourly bus creates unsafe,
stressful, and overcrowded traveling conditions for everyone on
board.
