The B2017 which bisects the village of Five Oak Green suffers from excessive speeding and a very high volume of traffic (estimated to be well over a 1000 vehicles per hour at peak time, many of which are HGVs) There are no crossing areas or physical traffic calming measures anywhere in the village. Pavements are very narrow in places and non existent in others. School children, the elderly and disabled are put at serious risk every day. Quality of life is also seriously impaired within the village. The road is the main route from Paddock Wood to Tonbridge & A21 access and the recent decision to build almost 700 new homes in Paddock Wood (with another 300 to come) will have a serious impact on this village.
