Despite signs clearly stating that the speed along Hilda May Ave is 20mph it is regularly ignored. Children cross the road outside the schools and near white oaks leisure centre early in the morning and mid afternoon. School start and finish time seems to annoy some motorists and they speed along the road without due regard to the children. There have been a number of recent near misses and it will not belong before a child is seriously injured or even killed. To reduce the risk of this occurring we request that an adhoc police presence is seen around the school at these times as a short term measure and that speed bumps or rumble strips are put in place for the longer term.
