Keep Tunbridge Wells Children's Centres open in Rusthall, Southborough, High Brooms and Broadwater

We the undersigned petition the council to Keep Children's Centre buildings and services open in local communities across Tunbridge Wells

Hello, I’m Jayne Sharratt, someone who moved here from London 15 years ago, 7 months pregnant with my first child, no clue how to be a parent, no family within 200 miles and knowing precisely zero people - I ?? *know* how important meeting other parents in your own community and accessing support is, and how very vital a lifeline Children’s Centres are.

KCC have released a public consultation document today which makes clear that they are proposing to close Harmony Children’sCentre in Rusthall as well as Cranbrook, The Ark in Broadwater and Southborough/High Brooms. This is on page 72 of the consultation document where they list the buildings they would be leaving as in no longer using.
The link to read the proposal and take the consultation survey is here:

When I went into Rusthall’s Harmony Children’s Centre today they had just had 41 children for their Stay and Play session, so we know it is well used by the community. They have Baby Time, Stay and Play, Health Visiting Services, courses, advice and signposting to other services for those who need it, and the building is also used by children’s mental health services, the Demelza hospice and social workers.

Please - if you have ever been glad the Children’s Centre was there or think you might be in the future, sign the petition, fill in the survey via the link above or a hard copy from the Children’s Centre and share it as widely as you can so that everyone this impacts has a chance to have their say.
Thank you ??
Jayne
