Kent County Council should be aware that Chalkpit Hill with its
‘blind’ bend, narrow lanes and 40MPH speed limit poses
a significant risk to pedestrians and creates hazardous conditions
for motorists. Pedestrians cannot be seen by motorists approaching
Chalkpit Hill from either direction and are often forced to walk
towards the centre of the road in order to create a clear line of
sight. This is a dangerous situation which is likely to cause a
serious accident and therefore a footpath for this section of the
road should be given priority.
