The duty to prepare the CYPP is contained in the Children Act 2004. This further outlined in The Children & Young People’s Plan Regulations 2005 and the amendment to this Statuary Instrument of 2007. This duty falls within the remit of the Director of Children’s Services and the Lead Member for Children’s Services. Although responsibility is given to the LA, the intention is that the LA is the co-ordinating body and that the CYPP is a Kent Children’s Trust Partnership plan for all local services affecting children and young people.
