Modular Classroom Programme 2012-13 - 12/01915

 

 

Approval to spend is required for a programme of provision of modular classrooms to meet the need for additional school places for the September 12-13 academic year.

 

How the decision  relates to BS4K and Corporate Objectives

 

One of the key strategic roles of the Local Authority is to ensure that there are sufficient education places of high quality to the children and young people of Kent.

By providing sufficient and appropriate school places the decision will support a range of the 16 BS4K priorities around the provision of education, specifically Priority 3 to ensure all pupils meet their full potential.

 

Impact/costs and risks of proposed decision

 

The impact of the decision is that the Local Authority will be able to proceed with the procurement and delivery of a programme of modular classrooms. The expected cost of the programme amounts to £4.6m. In not proceeding it will not be possible to provide appropriate school place provision for all school pupils in September
