The NHS Health Checks Programme is an important component of the
public health programme in Kent and across the country. It will
support all the KCC objectives of improving the health of people in
Kent, and helping prevent ill-health and the onset of long-term
conditions, thereby reducing demand for health and social care
services.
Impact/costs and risks of proposed decision
Extra funding amounts to 1.9 million which will enable Kent to
benefit from a properly funded comprehensive programme of Health
Checks for the first time. Undue delays or failure to allocate the
funding could result I its withdrawal.
