To agree a revised Winter Service Policy which will include revisions to salting routes and timings of the routes.
How the decision relates to BS4K and Corporate Objectives:
Winter Service is essential to keep Kent moving for social and economic development reasons. It also contributes towards putting the citizen in control through local district winter plans, the provision of salt bins and the communication strategy that compliments the winter service policy.
Impact/costs and risks of proposed decision:
The revised policy is not expected to involve changes to existing agreed budgets. Failure to agree and implement an effective winter service policy would risk the safe and efficient management of the County’s highway network during the winter months.
