How the decision relates to BS4K and Corporate Objectives
The Plan sets out how the youth justice services in the county will meet the principal aim of the youth justice system, “to prevent offending by children and young people”. A significant percentage of the youth offending population are amongst the most vulnerable children in the county and are drawn from communities most at risk of poor health outcomes. The Plan details how the youth offending teams, and the statutory partners, will work towards the improvement of health and education, training & employment outcomes, including providing the opportunity for a small number to participate in the apprenticeship scheme for vulnerable learners. The teams will also be integral to the partnership strategies, community budgets and troubled families.

The consultation within the County Council will be completed by the 9th July and the paper and Plan are being submitted to the County Youth Justice Board on the 28th June

The paper supporting the submission of the Plan will reflect any changes to the Plan that have been agreed as a result of the consultation process.
