How the decision  relates to BS4K and Corporate Objectives

Meets the need to be cost-effective and productive, simplifying and updating the operating model of CS. Meets the objective of creating a demonstrable level playing field with Kent businesses and pre-empts anticipated legislation on Local Authority trading.

Minimal financial impact in the short term. Over time the new company’s operating costs and tax basis will migrate to those experienced in private industry. The proposed decision is intended to pre-emptively reduce the risk of acting outside the legally permissible framework.
