To abandon the proposed road scheme so that it is no longer used for Land Charge disclosures or development control and the surplus declaration of all land and property held for the scheme.
How the decision relates to BS4K and Corporate Objectives:
The understanding that this scheme cannot realistically be delivered will allow land and property to be released and blight removed from the area that will contribute to the core objective of ‘Help Kent Economy to Grow’.
Impact/costs and risks of proposed decision:
Further deterioration of the property held and maintenance costs avoided and release of the capital asset achieved. Future reinstatement of the scheme will be prejudiced but it has made no progress in over 30 years and national transport policy and reduced funding only reinforces the position so the risk is negligible.
