Household Waste and Recycling Centres and Transfer Station Contract

To seek approval for the award of the Household Waste and Recycling Contract (HWRC) and Transfer Station (TS) Contract to the preferred bidder or bidders.

 

Financial Implications: The proposed contract spend by KCC will be approximately £7.8M per year for an initial period of up to six years, with a possible six year extension based on performance.

Legal Implications: KCC have a statutory responsibility to provide a service to enable householders to dispose of their waste.

Equality Implications: Relevant EIA’s will be part of the procurement project documentation.

Bold Steps for Kent: The proposed decision is in line with priority 1 of Bold Steps for Kent ‘Improve how we procure and commission services (to help the Kent economy to grow)’.
