The purpose of the
decision is to create Specialist Resourced Provision (SRP) at
Holmesdale Technology College, Malling
Road, Snodland for 12 pupils with Autistic Spectrum
Disorder (ASD) with effect from 1 September 2014.
The Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform will be asked to
endorse recommendations to:
(i) issue a public notice to Holmesdale
Technology College and
(ii) subject to no objections being received to implement by 1
September 2014.
The project is in line with Kent strategies and in particular supports the following;
Bold Steps for Kent priorities to
(i) Ensure all pupils meet their full potential
(ii) Shape education and skills provision around the needs of the Kent economy
The proposed alteration will offer 12 additional SEN places in the area which reflects KCC’s aspirations to increase the number of SEN school places across the County, as set out in the Commissioning Plan for Education Provision in Kent 2013-18.
