Proposal to expand Five Acre Wood School, Maidstone and increase the designated number of places offered from 210 to 275
Proposed decision: To update the facilities; expand the school; create a Satellite provision at East Borough Primary School for 15 pupils with a statement of Special Educational Needs for complex learning difficulties for October 2014; and increase the designated number of places offered at Five Acre Wood School from 210 places to 275 places:
(i) Allocate £1.726 million from Targeted Basic Need budget and £12 million from the Basic Need budget.
(ii) AUTHORISE the Director of Property and Infrastructure Support to be the nominated Authority Representative within the relevant agreements and to enter into variations as envisaged under the contracts
(iii) Update the facilities at Five Acre Wood School
(iv) Issue a public notice to (a) create a Satellite provision at East Borough Primary School, Vinters Road, Maidstone ME14 5DX for 15 students with complex learning difficulties (b) to ncrease the designated number of places from 210 places to 275 places from October 2014.
And, subject to no objections being received to the public notice
(ii) Expand the school
(iii) Create a Satellite Provision for 15 Students at East Borough Primary School, Vinters Road, Maidstone ME14 5DX from October 2014

The Executive Scheme of Delegation for Officers set out in Appendix 2 Part 4 of the Constitution (and the directorate schemes of sub-delegation made thereunder) provides the governance pathway for the implementation of this decision by officers. In this instance, the Director of Property, Infrastructure and Support (on behalf of the Corporate Director Business Strategy & Support) will take the substantive steps as are necessary to implement the decision.
