    Oakley School, Tunbridge Wells: Refurbishment and increase of designation pupil number

    The Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform has agreed to:

          i.        Increase the designated pupil number from 188 to 206

        ii.        Allocate £1.5 million from Special School Review Capital Programme Budget in order that the school may be expanded

       iii.        Authorise the Director of Property and Infrastructure Support in consultation with the Director of Law and Governance to enter into any necessary contracts/ agreements on behalf of the County Council

       iv.        Authorise the Director of Property and Infrastructure Support to be the nominated Authority Representative within the relevant agreements and to enter into variations as envisaged under the contracts

    Financial Implications: The capital costs, of rebuilding, refurbishing, relocating and expanding the schools in the Special School Review, are currently in the Capital Programme. £63m identified for the Special school programme has been set aside for these projects. Further information was provided in the report to the Cabinet Member when he tooks his decision.
    Human resource implications: If required, the schools will appoint additional teaching and support staff at the appropriate time.
