Contract for the provision of Waste treatment and/or final disposal services

This decision is being taken to give authority to the Head of Waste Services to award the aforementioned contract.

 

Financial Implications: The estimated contract spend by KCC will be approximately £47m over the initial period of five years, with a possible extension of up to a further two years based on performance.

There may be some potential to secure financial savings through these new contracts, depending upon the solution emanating from the market, although such savings are likely to be modest.

Legal Implications: Provision of such disposal services is a legal obligation under the Environmental protection Act 1990, and other related legislation.

Equality Implications: An Equalities Impact Assessment (EQIA) has been carried out, and no equalities implications have been identified.
