Kent Connected - Delivering improved 'door to door' travel options

To accept DfT funding for Kent Connected initiatives comprising: a website bringing together journey planning, real time travel information and smart travel card options, the roll out of a multi operator e-purse smart card, support for businesses & schools to develop and promote sustainable travel, audits of transport interchanges working with Kent Districts, promotional activities including Skyride and the Active Travel Challenge as well as extending existing driver and cyclist training offers.

Kent Connected also relates to the following priorities within the Growth Environment and Transport Business Plan 2015-2016: 1. Contribute to the delivery of the Growth & Infrastructure outcomes 2. Create successful bids to secure funding 4. Facilitate the development of partnerships (between transport providers) 6. Deliver the Kent Environment Strategy by reducing the impact of traffic 7. Financial Implications: Funding of £893k has been secured via a successful bid to the DfT Sustainable Transport Fund to deliver Government’s Door to Door Transport Strategy in Kent.
