Kent County Council taking a long lease of part of the newly-constructed Park Farm Special Educational Needs School, Folkestone

Proposed decision: Approval for the County Council to take a lease of part of the new Foxwood and Highview School at Park Farm Road, Folkestone, from the Kent Special Education Needs Trust, on terms to be finalised by the Director of Infrastructure, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Corporate and Democratic Services, and to part of that space being underlet to the East Kent Hospital University Trust health authority.

 

How the decision relates to BS4K and Corporate Objectives:

This decision will provide the level of certainty needed by the County Council to deliver the space needed by the Disabled Children’s Service

 

The proposal directly supports the following Bold Steps for Kent:-

 

-       ensure all pupils meet their full potential,

-       shape Education and skills provision around the needs of the Kent economy,

-       improve services for the most vulnerable people in Kent,

-       support families with complex needs and increase the use of     community budgets.

Financial Implications: The financial implications will be documented and agreed as part of the final agreements

Legal Implications: KCC will enter into the required legal documentation in order to protect its legal position
