    Consultees

Consultation was undertaken relating to any future proposal for permanent expansion.

A report seeking the allocation of funding towards The Westlands’ School building project was provided to the Children’s, Young People and Education Cabinet Committee meeting on 29 November 2018.

Financial implications: The capital allocation of £1.96m would be a funding contribution towards the replacement of a number of mobile and temporary classrooms on the Westlands site that would otherwise not be useable as the classrooms to meet the additional pupil place need. The funding allocation would be subject to a contractual agreement from the Trust to offer a minimum of 330 Year 7 places for September 2019 and September 2020. The school’s current published admission number (PAN) is 285.

Legal implications: Any legal implications will be identified in the report to the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education before he takes his decision to allocate the funding.

Equalities implications: An Equality Impact Assessment has been carried out and is attached to this document. The Assessment will be revised if public consultation on permanent expansion proceeds.
