The RecordsManagement Service(RMS) is an internal service managed by Libraries, Registration & Archives(LRA) inpartnership withthe KCCRecords Managerwho isbased in theInformation, Resilienceand TransparencyTeam. Theservice operatesin orderthat KCCis compliant with theLord Chancellor's Codeof Practiceon themanagement of recordsissued under section 46of theFreedom ofInformation Act2000.
The contractto outsourcethe storageof KCC'smodem recordswas awardedto TNTBusiness Solutions,based inThurrock, onthe 1September 2011.
,Thecurrent contract withTNT BusinessSolutions isdue toexpire onthe 30July 2017.The value ofthe currentcontract isapproximately £200,000.00a year. The newcontract is proposed tobe upto tenyears meaningan estimatedtotal contractlife costof £2,160,000.00. This includesan additionalpotential £160,000for thepotential thatthe contractis let toa new 1 supplier.
